As part of our commitment to education, we developed a New Zealand Farm Education Park focusing on animals farmed in New Zealand. Come and see, touch and feed a range of NZ farm animals. Come and experience life on a small New Zealand farm and see, touch and feed a range of NZ farm animals.
Experience the animals up close and personal. Our animals are hand-reared so are very friendly and you can even cuddle the rabbits!
Learn about NZ breeds and how these animals contributed to the NZ economy.
We are only 30 minutes from the central city and 10 minutes from the airport.
Bring your own picnic or refresh yourself at our café onsite.
A bit of our background…
In 2011, not long after the earthquake that devastated Christchurch, Craig Musson and Suzie Hynam discussed a plan to open a farm park. We were in an area that suffered virtually no damage and was easy to locate, making it a perfect place for families to come and escape their stressful lives, if only for a day. It was a peaceful place – free of damaged buildings and liquefaction; somewhere kids could run free and enjoy themselves amongst animals while their parents unwind in the tranquil surroundings.
